Embolization of Post-Traumatic Pseudoaneurysm of the Proper Hepatic Artery

چکیده
38-year old, drunken man had fell from the window and was admited to the hospital with multiple limb fractures and suspicion of traumatic liver injury. Post-contrast CT examination proved the pseudoaneurysm arising caudally from the proper hepatic artery. The indicated angiography should specify location and character of the pseudoaneurysm and allow its subsequent embolization. After placing the catheter tip into its neck the pseudoaneurysm was successfully closed by metal coils and mixture of tissue glue (Histoacryl) and contrast medium (Lipiodol Ultrafluid). *Corresponding author: Václav Janík, Charles University in Prague, Radimova 136 A, Prague 169 00, Czech Republic, Tel: 267-162-812; E-mail: [email protected] Received March 17, 2012; Accepted May 29, 2012; Published May 30, 2012 Citation: Janík V, Laboš M, Vyhnánek F (2012) Embolization of Post-Traumatic Pseudoaneurysm of the Proper Hepatic Artery. Hepatic artery embolization to control liver hemorrhages by interventional radiologists: experiences from Khon Kaen University.
Between 2001 and 2005, nine patients with liver hemorrhage underwent non-surgical embolotherapy. There were six males and three females, ranging in age from 9 to 58 years. All patients were symptomatic with hypotension and decreasing hematocrit. Causes of liver hemorrhage included liver laceration following blunt abdominal injury (2 patients), pseudoaneurysms of hepatic artery following blunt a...

Background: Traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the supratrochlear artery is a rare lesion. It manifests, as a painless mass, in the frontal region following trauma. The unusual incidence and confusing presentation require the clinicians to thoroughly understand its presentation and diagnosis. Diagnosis is typically made on history and physical examination, but it can be confirmed by duplex ultraso...
متن کاملA traumatic hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm and arterioportal fistula, with severe diarrhea as the first symptom
RATIONALE Hepaticarterioportal fistula (APF) is a rare cause of portal hypertension and gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and presents as abnormal communication between the hepatic artery and portal vein. Percutaneous liver biopsy is a main iatrogenic cause of AFP. However, non-iatrogenic, abdominal, trauma-related APF is rarely reported. PATIENT CONCERNS A 29-year-old man presenting with severe, ...
متن کاملPost-traumatic Cavernosal Artery Pseudoaneurysm Presenting as Right Hip Pain: An Imaging Evaluation
Pseudoaneurysm of the cavernosal artery is quite rare. Herein, we describe color Doppler findings of post-traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the right cavernosal artery in a 19-year-old adolescent boy who presented with right hip pain. Doppler showed turbulence of flow with arterial inflow and outflow from the aneurysm. Selective transarterial catheterization of the internal iliac and internal pudenta...

INTRODUCTION Percutaneous transhepatic portal embolization is often performed to expand the indications for hepatic resection. Various etiologies of hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm have been reported, but regardless of the etiology, hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm is usually managed with an endovascular approach or open surgery, depending on the location and clinical symptomatology. However, it is ...
